Technique Tuesday with Jennifer Longenecker

Today I'm going to show you a fun way to create an interesting background for your cards or photos. You can use any paper item that you have multiples of such as tickets and punches.

I'm going to show you how to use this technique using punches and then I'll show you an example I did using tickets.

Step 1: Gather your supplies. I used a butterfly punch and punched a bunch of butterflies from book paper.


Step 2: Glue your tickets or punched item to your paper or envelope.




Step 3: Give your project a good white wash with watered down acrylic paint.




Step 4: Add color with either water colors or watered down acrylic paint.




Step 5: Highlight an areas of your project by outlining a shape with your pen.




Step 6: Decorate to your hearts content.
