Design Team Reveal

The design team has been busy working away with the fabulous December kit Granny's Notions". Let's take a look and see what they have been up to...

First up is this adorable LO by Tonya Dirk. I love her paper pieced packages and Zhu Zhu pet.

Up next is this precious LO by Karen Grunberg. I love how she let the photo speak for itself and used one of the Artisan Frames as a neutral backdrop.

Next up is this fun LO by Kay Rogers. Don't those pictures just scream joy?
And finally is this LO by yours truly. I fell in love with these leaf buttons as soon as i saw them.
...still more to come.

December Design Team Challenge Update

It's time to check in on our December challenge. Things might be a little confusing while we are updating the AMM message board and gallery, but the December challenge is still going on. If you would like to participate please include a link to your LO in the comments section of this post.

Let's take a look at the challenge again.

Here's the sketch provided by Kay Rogers:

and here's Tonya's challenge:

"Your challenge is to create a card or LO based on the sketch using a Christmas/Holiday themed product to make a non-Christmas/Holiday project ... or you can choose to make a Christmas/Holiday project using a non-Christmas/Holiday themed product."

Technique Tuesday with Zoe Nemburt

Happy Tuesday Ladies, Getting real close to Christmas now!! Have you finished your shopping? I’m almost done a little more wrapping to do. Todays technique is Clusters, I love clustering flowers together it’s a great way to use up some of last seasons primas!!

I like to lay out the flowers before I start try to keep to 2 or 3 shades of flowers, I always believe a more monochromatic looks gives more of an impact. I also cut apart a couple of the larger blooms to make the cluster look more coordinated.

It’s always nice to start with a crescent shape, so gather your larger flowers don’t stick them down until your happy with the way they flow across the page.

Once your happy with the shape and appearance you can start to build up with the smaller flowers (the small prima roses are PERFECT) and add some leaves and or paper foliage cut out from coordinating paper, I used Websters Pages for this layout and there is never a shortage of pretty flowers and foliage to cut out.

I just added a few crystals here, now you could add any pearl or rhinestone swirls, if you cut the up you can add smaller swirls around the cluster for a neat look.

Here is my finished layout. I hope you liked my short tutorial today.

December Kit "Granny's Notions"

Next is this fabulous LO by Staci Taylor. I just love here falling snowflakes.

This next beauty was designed by Kay Rogers. I just love the vintage feel to this LO.

Next up is this super, super cute LO by Karen Grunberg. I just love the flurry of butterflies and the typography.

And finally this stunning LO by Tonya Dirk. The colors are so bright and beautiful and that picture is precious.

Little Something Sunday with Karen Grunberg

I wanted to make a quick little tag that I could use on my presents this year. This tag was super-quick to make:

1. I took a plain manila tag from an office supply store.
2. I inked the background using several shades of green distress ink.
3. Using my edge punch, I punched out several strips from my The Girls' Paperie Tinsel & Twig Snowfall paper in different sizes.
4. I layered the paper so that it looked like a tree and glued it all down.
5. I took the top of one of my The Girls' Paperie Tinsel & Twig crape paper snowflakes and cut down the crepe paper a bit to make the top of my tree.
6. I used the rest of the crepe paper to create a trunk for my tree.
7. I used The Girls' Paperie Tinsel & Twig sticker sheet to spell "tis the season" on my tree.
8. I stitched the letters down and then stitched around my tag.

That's it!! super quick and simple and a nice way to add a personal touch to your presents.

:)
