Little Something Sunday with Susan Dupre!

When it comes to those layouts why not think outside the box? Who says you have to use your photos in a traditional way?

In this layout I printed my photo on transparency. You can now see the patterned paper underneath it. It really adds an interesting touch to your layout.

You can also see I used another transparency on top of the photo to frame the picture. Not only are transparencies great for photos, but you can stamp or copy your image on to a transparency. This allows you the freedom to move about your image without worrying whether it will be permanent.

It also saves you money! Say you have one of those cute transparency clocks, yet you only have one left. Well, just copy it onto your own transparency sheet, and voila, now you have another. Now go get creative with those handmade transparencies!

June Guest Designer Reveal

A Million Memories proudly welcomes back Kimmi Achord as our June guest designer! (insert applause and cheers here!!!)

Kimmi is a former AMM design team member and a crazy talented girl to boot. She currently designs for Pink Paislee and Creative Therapy.
Here is a little bit about Kimmi: "Hello! I am Kimmithy (Kimmi) Achord. I am 23 and I live just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my husband, Travis, and three year old son, Brayden. I am a stay at home mommy and love being there during all of those little, everyday moments in my son’s life. I can always remember being real crafty. I always liked to make things when I was a kid and remember painting my bedroom countless times and sewing my own curtains when I was a teenager. I started scrapbooking back in high school, but didn’t really get into it until after my son was born and I started browsing the web for inspiration. I came across AMM, which was my first message board and kit club to get involved with, and have been addicted to it since. I love patterned paper and lots of layers. People say I do it all backwards – creating the majority of a layout, then choosing my photos/journaling to add to it…I know, I’m strange, but that’s the way I do it! When I’m not scrapping, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, sewing and all other sorts of craftiness. Thanks to Michelle and AMM for having me back to guest design this month...it is an honor!"
Here are a few designs by Kimmi to get your inspiration fired up!

You can get more inspiration from Kimmi's gallery.
Also, check out her blog!
Thanks for joining us this month Kimmi! I'll be back to post Kimmi's guest deign team work once the kit is released, so check back!

Technique Tuesday with Wendela Lam!

Summertime….
Here in the Netherlands, it's almost summer!! In the summertime I love the sunny days, the long evenings, and I love to make some romantic things for the garden. So I made this hanger you can put a candle in. Isn't it romantic?

Materials you need to complete the project:
A little jar
Alcohol ink
Tulle
Ribbon or lace
A Hambly overlay with butterflies
Hambly papers
Some tiny roses

Here are the steps:
1. You ink the jar like this with the alcohol ink.

2. After that you cut off a line of the beautiful Hambly papers and distress this with a tool ( I used my Heidi Swapp distresser)

3. Then you ink the Hambly butterfly overlay.

4. Next, you cut out the butterflies and put it all together on the jar. First I used a little piece of tule then the paper. After that the lace making a firm bow. Then you can add the tiny roses and the butterflies. To finish it all off, I put some stickles on the butterflywings.

5. With iron wire, you wrap it around the top of the jar a few times and add a few spirals to hang up your altered summer jar.

Member Monday Picked by Tonya Dirk!

Congratulations Jaylynn! Your layout, "List" has been chosen by our Design Team Coordinator as Layout of the Week. Here is Jaylynn's awesome layout about her bucket list of things to do.
Here is what Tonya had to say about picking this layout.

"I love the unique take on this. Love that the whole entire background is her handwritten journaling and the way she used one of the NSD challenges and made the handwritten title."

If you would like to see your work featured on the blog then be sure to upload those beautiful creations to the gallery!
