Jennifer Findlay Share a Fun Fast Card!
Here is a quick card that I made that can be adapted for any and all holidays or occassions. This card is made totally from scraps!
Here are the quick and easy steps.
1. I used a precut and folded cardstock card, but you could cut your own card to be any size you want.
2. Gather up several different scraps of patterned paper and/or ribbon that are at least as wide as your card. I chose to use yellow and green for St Patrick's Day. I would recommend sticking to no more than three colors to keep the color palette focused. I also think it looks better when you use complimentary colors or colors that are tones within the same family. I made one for a friend using pink and purple. It really is up to your eye and preference.
3. Cut your patterned paper scraps into strips of varying widths and then cut them down to the width of your card. Border punched strips would be a fun texture to add.
4. I added a scallop edge to the front of my card so I had to trim the card cover a bit then attached the scalloped strip.
5. Begin at the bottom opening of the card and start layering the cut strips up to the fold overlapping them a bit.
6. Once you have the front of the card covered in strips you can embellish the front with your sentiment. I stitched across the patterned paper strips to add some texture and added a stamped spot on which I typed "Luck Me!" and popped up with some pop dots.
I'd love to see your color combos and examples of this quick and easy card. Please post your work in the A Million Memories User Gallery!!
Good Luck!
