Member Monday with Karen Grunberg

It's Monday and you know what that means...a new Member Monday. Here to share with us her pick for Layout of the Week is Karen Grunberg. She chose this layout by Julie Overby. Julies was also recently the AMM member the design team chose to "scraplift".

Karen said, "I loved the simplicity of white on white and the stunning contrast with that and the beautiful color photo. Clean, pure, and perfect."

"Be Free" by Julie Overby

The following is a quick interview Karen did with Julie. So read on to learn more about her.

Karen: What inspired you to do an all-white layout?
Julie: I really wanted the photo to stand out so I knew I wanted to use lighter colors. The look of "'pureness" in my daughter's face made me decide to do it all white. (I LOVE IT)

Karen: What's your favorite part of putting a layout together?
Julie:
Adding all the fun embellishments at the end!

Karen: What's your least favorite part of putting a layout together?
Julie:
My least favorite would have to be trying to fit in the journaling. I usually have so much that I want to say but by the time I get the design down, I don't have enough room to "say it all!"

Karen: Where do you get your inspiration? Maybe link us to some people who inspire you?
Julie:
As far as inspirations for layouts, Stephanie Howell has been a great inspiration. I remember four years ago, when I joined my first teeny tiny "message board," she was one of the first gals I got to know. I have always loved her style and her sweet, sweet spirit. When it comes to being inspired by card makers, Melissa Philips has been my number one inspiration. I absolutely adore everything she creates!

Karen: How long have you been scrapping?
Julie:
I really have been "scrapping" ever since I was married 14 years ago. I wanted desperately to "preserve" our wedding photos. But I have only become a true avid, everyday paper crafter in the last four years.

Be sure to leave Julie some love here on this post and check out her gallery for more inspiration. You can visit her on her blog here.
