More September Kit Designs

Time for more oohing and aahhing over the design team's September kit projects.

"Home is Wherever We Are" by Stacy Cohen Stacy did some really pretty handcutting of the patterned papers from the kit including the clouds from the Cosmo Cricket paper and the flowers from the Sassafras paper. It is such a great way to get more functionality out of your papers, just cut and voila, you have instant embellishments.

"Best Buds" by Tonya Dirk This layout has star power! Tonya used the Cosmo Cricket notebook style paper and die cut soem stars on top of which she layered the Lily Bee rubons and added some texture with some backstitching along the border of the star. Layering is such an easy way to give your layouts more dimension.

"Barnes & Noble=1 Happy Girl" by Rachel Hall Rachel added a children's book page to the background of this layout and it adds so much character to the project. I also want to point out what she did with the Pink Paislee alpha stickers. Brown alphas weren't going to pop on this project as much so she painted them blue and added some Glossy Accents to give them more dimension and shine. So many times we are looking for the perfect alpha to go with a project when it might be right in front of you, just add a little paint. Don't be afraid to change up a product to get more mileage out of it.

"If the Shoe Fits" by Lucy Edson Lucy also changed up the Pink Paislee alpha by painting them black to coordinate better with her layout. For quick and easy journaling she painted a little white strip along the borders of her layout and hand wrote her journaling. Not only is this a quick way to add journaling but it also gave a subtle border to the layout. Not to mention that the pic of her daughter's feet in her dress up shoes is just too cute.

"Your Teachers '08" by Karen Grunberg I love the concept behind this layout of Karen's son, David, with his teachers. Karen kept it simple as is her expert style. A very clean patterned paper blocked design keeps the focus on the pictures and her journaling with only a few well placed embellishments for interest.

Our international girls should be just getting their kits so look for designs from Hilde, Larissa, and Mia next week.
